Frequently Asked Questions about booking:

Q: How much does Where Are the Nine charge for shows?

A: Where Are the Nine is not 100% free of charge.  Like most people, we have our share of personal expenses that require a regular financial income.  Personal needs aside, our band is dependent upon a regular financial income to keep our wheels rolling from show to show.  Without financial income, we would also be at a standstill when it comes to producing a regular supply of cds, tshirts and other related items that are essential tools in the music industry.  We believe it is important on our part to communicate all negotiations before booking a show for this reason.  We are flexible, and we do not want payment for a show (or lack of payment) to be THE deciding factor in your decision to book Wat9 for an event.  Please fill out our booking form, and let us know what works best for you.
We understand that some gigs are worth playing simply for a good cause, and if this is the case, please supply us with as much information as possible regarding the cause/benefit that we would be playing for.  We are also understanding that some gigs are worth playing simply for good exposure, and if this is the case, please let us know how many people you expect your event/establishment to draw in, aside from the crowd that you hope for Wat9 to draw.

Q: If you are able to sell your CD's will you come and play for free?

A: No.  Many people tend to use this as an excuse NOT to pay a band anything at all.  What these people do not understand is that
CD sales most often does NOT translate into expense coverage for the band's needs. These merchandise sales only help to pay for our traveling expenses from one gig to another, and to cover maintainance and/or replacement of gear, food, lodging and unexpected costs that always pop up while touring.  If you are in a position where you would like Wat9 to participate in your event but are honestly unable to pay anything at all, please let us know.

Q: I want to book Where Are the Nine but they aren't on tour near my city. Now what?

A: Your event may require Where Are the Nine to fly to and from your venue location. In this circumstance, any airfare as well as room & board will need to be covered by you or the promoter of the event. You may want to get in touch with people in your area and see about planning a few events over the course of a few days to help with these costs. Get in touch with us and we can let you know how to make this happen.

Q: Do you travel with your own sound system?

A: This depends on the venue. Many venues are more than equipped to handle having huge festival size events at their locations, while some other places can hardly handle putting a CD in their CD players without the speakers blowing up. So to answer the question: Yes, we are ABLE to travel with our own sound, and oftentimes prefer to use our own equipment. And if you have an event booked on an already scheduled tour, the odds are that we will have a sound system with us. Whether or not we use ours or yours will be discussed in the booking process.

Q: Is Where Are the Nine signed to a record label?

A: Where Are the Nine is currently not 'signed' to any major, minor, independent, quasi-independent, foreign, domestic or interplanetary record label. Being independent has allowed us many advantages over the past 6 years of our lives. However, we are not against the idea of partnering with a record label. Many of our friends have deep rooted & wonderful relationships with their record labels. We have just chosen not to spend or be spent making 'getting signed' our goal.
